KENTHURSTThe additions to this Queen-Anne style house needed to carefully integrate both landscape and house into the strong heritage and timeless presence of this bushland property. The sandstone base steps into a number of retaining walls and pathways. Garden windows frame the surrounding landscape, while complex roof forms blend new with old, creating variation and interest amongst the tree tops. The landscaping was developed in collaboration with the client, creating a formal plateau of rugged materiality, texture and soft tones harmonious with the surrounding bush-scape.
